| Participating Book Stores |
| The Reading Rewards Program, funded by the Walter R Behrens Foundation, rewards children for reading. The program also pays for educational field trips to science exhibits, museums and stage plays, including the busses needed for transporting the children.
Kindergarten and primary age students who don't read yet can be read to by parents then fill out a book report form to submit to their teacher.
The writing of the book reports are in itself good for the children. The program involves the book, the child, the parents, the teacher and their principal. Kids get a chance to practice writing, spelling and putting their thoughts on paper. |
